Jo Gorrell completed her training at Macquarie University. She has a Bachelor of Science with Honours and a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology. She has 30 years experience working in hospital and community mental health settings and has worked in private practice in Dee Why for the past 10 years.

Jo has experience working with anxiety and mood disorders, trauma related conditions, personality disorders and psychosis. She has a special interest in helping people with anxiety, psychosis and complex psychological problems.

Jo uses evidence based psychological treatments selected from a variety of psychological frameworks and adapted to meet the needs of each individual. She commonly uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Mindfulness integrated Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (MiCBT). She also draws on experience and training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Jo is a Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor and is available for supervision, consultation and training. She is also a comprehensive trained member of our DBT Consult Team.
