Jo is a registered psychologist with more than fifteen years experience working with young people and adults in private and community mental health settings.  Jo takes a personalized and holistic approach to mental health and wellbeing that focuses on an individual’s capabilities and values.

Jo’s experience as a psychologist includes consulting in career management and corporate settings, counselling and coaching individuals in private practice, and working in the public sector as a specialist in mental health rehabilitation.  She has spent more than a decade working in Community Mental Health within Adult as well as Youth and Family teams.  Prior to studying psychology Jo worked as a physiotherapist and has experience as a health coach.

Jo helps people to manage a range of conditions and cope with adversities including anxiety, mood disorders, personality dysfunction, psychosis, stress, trauma and relationship difficulties.  Using evidence and mindfulness based interventions she draws on a variety of therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Family Systems to help people create a healthier, fulfilled self. 

Jo completed the Foundation training in DBT in 2021 and is a member of the Northern Beaches DBT Consult Team and is an individual therapist in the Comprehensive Program. Jo especially enjoys helping older teenagers and adults successfully navigate their way through life’s transitions in an ever-changing world.
